May brings us a lot of things. For example, every year at this time we experience the perennial favorite called the Kentucky Derby, representing a blend of pageantry and performance. Names of famous horses like Citation, Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Affirmed, American Pharaoh and Justify won this event on their way to winning the Triple Crown. I remember that no matter what was going on, my Dad used to make sure he was sitting in front of the TV when this occurred. If horses are not your thing, then you might look forward to the Indy 500 or the PGA Championship. In each of these events, sports fans schedule time on their calendars to make sure that they don’t miss these annual events. It really doesn’t matter how much of your busy schedule these sporting occurrences take up, you will make sure you are watching them in real time. As the old saying goes, “You make time for what is important to you.”

On May 30th here at Emmanuel Church at 7:00 pm, your Association will be selecting its next Executive Director. Like our Annual Meeting, each church can send both its pastor and a set number of messengers to attend. While everyone can make excuses for why they can’t come, choosing the Network’s next leader does not happen very often. This is why every church should make it a priority to have representation.

With that in mind, I am happy to announce that the Personnel and Leadership Teams have unanimously recommended Brad Wright to be our next Executive Director. Brad is no stranger to the TCN. He has served as Vice-Moderator, Moderator and a leader in one of our Impact Groups. He is also a good friend and colleague. I know he will be able to take the TCN to new heights of collaborative ministry. Please set aside this date to participate in this very important event. You will not regret it.
